Our Vision
- We want to promote Māori arts by activating our community to ensure a strong cultural identity within Southland and our wider region. Working in a collaborative way to ensure we are reaching into all areas of our community.
- We want to promote, support, encourage, advance and develop Mātauraunga Māori through a Toi Māori lens for the benefit of the communities in Aotearoa, promoting equity and inclusion.
- We want to ensure constitutional obligations are being met (as laid out in this countries founding documents, He Whakaputanga and Te Teriti and encourage participation, education, awareness, understanding and appreciation by the public of Matariki celebrations in Aotearoa, sharing tikanga, pūrākau and celebrations in Mātauraunga Māori
- We want to support whānau to create their own legacy projects using Mātauraunga Māori through a Toi Māori lens
- We want to increase opportunities for people in Aotearoa to have access to Mātauraunga Māori through Toi Māori workshops, and community gatherings so that the cultural heritage is enriched and able to thrive
